The weather in Germany is quite unpredictable and spring can feel like it’s never going to come. In March you can see snow, and in April you can see anything from sun to rain to hail storms, so come prepared for the German weather with layers and rain gear. Summer In summer you can enjoy long sunny days, although there is high precipitation in Germany in summer so pack your umbrella! Autumn Autumn in Germany is an extremely pleasant season with the golden leaves covering the grass. The German’s call the Autumn the Indian Summer (Altweibersommer). Although as always though the weather is unpredictable so be prepared to see some cold and rainy days. Winter Expect the coldest! You’ll be seeing the temperature often dropping below zero. You can expect a picture perfect white Christmas although German winter is quite unpredictable and you should be prepared for rain! We will be going in Autumn (Sept - Oct) because the weather will be a nice in-between summer to winter. The views are amazing in Autumn with all of the colour that the trees hold. Travelling to Heidelberg...For our two week holiday in Heidelberg we will be flying with QANTAS, departing from Sydney International Airport (SYD) on Tuesday, October 6. on a flight to Frankfurt. This flight will cost $795 per person. The duration of this flight is 24 hours and 50 minutes with 1 stop at Dubai. From Frankfurt International Airport (FRA) we will be catching a bus to our hotel, this bus will take 1 hour and 14 minutes. Then on Tuesday, October 20, we will catch the bus to Frankfurt International Airport and fly back to Sydney International Airport. This flight will cost $939 per person. The total cost for the return plane tickets is $1734 per person.

Accommodation in Heidelberg...On this trip we will be staying at NH Hirschberg Heidelberg which is located at Brandenburger Strasse 30 Hirschberg BW 69493 Germany. The NH Hirschberg Heidelberg is a 10 minute drive, or 16 minute bus ride into the centre of Heidelberg. The room has 3 single beds, free parking, and free internet, the hotel also has a breakfast buffet which does cost extra. The total cost for 1 room to stay at this hotel for 13 days is $954.28.
Eating in Germany...In Germany we will be eating at Restaurant Simplicissimus, this is a classic German restaurant. There are many classic German main meals, entrées, and desserts that we could experience ranging from $12-
$48 (8€ - 32€). There is also a 'Vegetarian' menu option. Tourist Attractions...In Germany we will be visiting 3 tourist attractions and they are;
1. The Heidelberg Castle. We can go inside the castle and do an english tour for $5.32 AUS each (€ 3.60). We will be going to the Heidelberg Castle as it is contains hundreds of years of history that we could learn and benefit from. It has a wonderful view of Heidelberg. 2. VfL Wolfsburg v 1899 Hoffenheim Game. We will be watching the Wolfsburg vs Hoffenheim Game which costs $98.91 AUS each (£46.75). This game would be a great way to experience the atmosphere of a German soccer game. 3. Old Quarter. The Old Quarter is a market square with lots of old buildings, cafes and markets and the best gelato in Germany! The old Quarter is a perfect way to feel and see the what the old buildings in Germany were like, we could experience everything from German food to German markets. 1899 Hoffenheim German Soccer Team...The soccer team closest to this city is 1899 TSG Hoffenheim. The teams home ground is the Rhein-Neckar Arena in Hoffenheim.1899 TSG Hoffenheim have 3 uniforms; home, away and 'third'.
• The modern day 1899 Hoffenheim German soccer team was formed in 1945 when the Turnverein Hoffenheim (gymnastics club) founded in 1899 and the Fußballverein Hoffenheim (football club) founded in 1921 combined together.
